Hanrahan Consulting, LLC was formed in 2005 and in a very short period of time has become the primary choice among many police officers when it comes to training and education for promotional exams. SPECIALIZED DEPARTMENT TRAINING
Recently Hanrahan Consulting, LLC has expanded to fulfill a much needed void in police training; basic in-service training that is designed to fill the general and broad needs of all departments, large and small, each with their own specific needs. Training and education custom tailored to fit the needs of individual agencies was essentially non-existent. Hanrahan Consulting, LLC is now offering legal training tailored to meet the needs of your agency and to serve as a supplement to basic in-service training. For instance, a department policing a community with a large shopping mall may require specialized training for its officers in the area of credit card offenses, forgery, and shoplifting. A department policing in a community dealing with a drug or gang problem may require specialized training in the areas of stop & frisk, threshold inquiries, weapons offenses and so on. We can create a training program specifically designed to meet the needs of your agency and your officers.
Our instructors have extensive legal training and experience, and unlike other entities, all of our instructors, in addition to their specialized legal training, are working police officers that bring practical street experience to the classroom. We are committed to improving policing in the Commonwealth and we can help your department improve the level of policing in your community.
PROMOTIONAL EXAM FORMATION
There is no element that has a greater influence on your department's overall success than the quality of your leadership. We can devise a promotional exam that is customized to the needs of your department; based on your department policies, the laws of your jurisidiction, nationally recognized police management textbooks, and/or any other element needed to ensure that your agency is lead by absolute best. One of the best "side effects" of offering a promotional exam over other methods of selection is that the officers in your department will self education themselves on the topics selected for the exam. The result is often a better educated and knowledgable police department serving your community.
ASSESSMENT CENTERS
If you would like to include an assessment into the promotional process as an adjunct to a written exam or to serve as the primary selection tool we can devise an assessment center that is designed to reflect how your potential candidates will perform in the field or during an actual incident. We will customize a process that is designed to meet the needs of your agency and utilize only experienced professionals, with proven track records, to serve as assessors.
